Top Thai Attractions

Going it alone or joining a Thailand tour, a vacation in Thailand offers many magical and memorable experiences to the tourist. From the far north of the nation to its southern tip, there are attractions to appeal to every visitor interests and preferences.

Just a few of those must-experience attractions include:

Chang Mai - an overnight train trip from Bangkok, Chang Mai is a jungle wonderland amongst the nations tallest mountains; feed, bathe and ride your own elephant, trek through the jungle, or try your hand at a Thai cooking school.

Ayutthaya - this ancient city was founded in 1350 AD as a second capital of Siam. It was the trading capital of Asia, thanks to its ideal location at the crossroads between India, China, and the Malay Archipelago. One of the worlds largest cities in 1700, it was plundered and destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767. Today the remains of stone temples and palaces remain in an historical park as a reminder of the glorious and magnificent past of Siam.

Krabi - situated on the west coast, this beautiful bay is the gateway to dozens of islands, national parks, the Andaman Sea, and home to some of the world's finest rock climbing locations.

Kanchanaburi - not only home to the renowned Tiger Temple (and your opportunity to get close to and even cuddle one of these magnificent cats), this is where the Burma Railways bridge over the River Kwai was located. An annual carnival re-enacts the historic battle.

National Parks - Khao Sok in the south of Thailand houses the world's oldest evergreen rainforest. Foot trekking or jeep safari through the jungle will bring you within sight of barking deer, wild boar, and gibbons. Go tubing or canoeing on Cheow Larn Lake. Alternatively, Khao Yai spreads over four Thai provinces. Three hours from Bangkok, it is a lush and mountainous region with waterfalls, valleys, and many, many floral, bird, and animal species including elephants, tigers, black bears and leopards.

Phang Nga Bay - Thailands answer to Vietnams Halong Bay, emerald green waters surround sheer limestone cliffs. Best seen by boat, a cruise will allow for stops at secluded beaches.

Floating Markets - these colourful Bangkok markets are synonymous with Thailand. Boats are piled high with fresh tropical vegetables and fruits, as well as coconut water and milk - even local fresh-cooked food is served from floating kitchens by the boats. If you enjoy haggling, you will enjoy these unique markets.

Wat Arun - locally known as Wat Chaeng, the Temple of Dawn is located in Bangkok on the west bank of the River Chao Phraya. The golden temple is a resplendent sight.

A Thailand tour will guarantee memorable sights and experiences in one of the worlds most beautiful countries. There is good reason so many Hollywood movies set their scenes in this amazing landscape - it is home to some of the most spectacularly gorgeous beaches and lushest jungle on the planet. Plan your vacation today.
